Bangboo
Bangboo are smart devices distinct to New Eridu. Initially designed to aid citizens during Hollow calamities, they have, through continuous research and tech progression, transformed into "all-encompassing and multifaceted intelligent beings" crucial to the daily functions of New Eridu.
Mechanically constructed, the Bangboo need charging. Numerous facilities offer customization options to cater to particular Bangboo functionalities; for instance, some advanced Bangboo models can accompany Investigators deep into the Hollows.
Selecting a Bangboo
Combat Bangboos
In Zenless Zone Zero, Bangboos are unlocked in the same way characters are. Signal Searches can be purchased using in-game currency and can yield random Bangboos, as well as other items and characters.
When creating your team, you can choose to bring a Bangboo along with you, as well as three characters. Bangboos can be upgraded, which increases their stats (HP, DEF, ATK, and Impact), as well as their skills.
These Bangboos are called Combat Bangboos, which differ from the various Bangboos you see in New Eridu, such as the Bangboos that run the 141 Convenience Store or the ones that help run Random Play.

Stats
Each Bangboo has four stats: HP, DEF, ATK, and Impact.
- HP: HP are the health points the Bangboo has. When its HP reaches 0, it cannot be used until the next battle.
- DEF: DEF is the Bangboo's defense stat. A higher DEF stat means the Bangboo will take less damage from enemy attacks.
- ATK: ATK is the Bangboo's attack stat. A higher ATK stat means the Bangboo will deal more damage to enemies.
- Impact: Attacking enemies increases their Daze. A higher Impact stat allows more Daze to accumulate with each attack.
When a Bangboo levels up, its HP, DEF, and ATK will increase, but its Impact will remain the same.
Skills
Each Bangboo has three skills: A, B, and C. As the Bangboo is upgraded, its B and C skills will also upgrade.
These skills increase the stats of your agents, such as their CRIT Rate, HP, ATK, DEF, and others.
Faction benefits
Some Bangboo will have a special effect on agents from a particular faction. For example, Amillion provides a CRIT DMG boost for agents in Gentle House (Cunning Hares) and Butler provides a CRIT Rate boost for agents in Victoria Housekeeping Co.
Element benefits
Some Bangboo, not all, will have a special effect on agents of a particular element. For example, Devilboo provides a damage increase for Ether agents.
Bangboo can also deal elemental damage themselves. For example, Devilboo deals Ether damage, while Luckyboo deals Physical damage.
Which Bangboo is right for your team?
When determining which Bangboo is best for your team, take into account the following:
- The Bangboo's stats: Which Bangboo has the highest HP, DEF, ATK, and Impact?
- Faction of the other agents on the team: If your team is comprised of agents from Gentle House (Cunning Hares) or Victoria Housekeeping Co., consider using Amillion or Butler, respectively, as they will provide an additional boost to these agents.
- Element of the other agents on the team: Some Bangboo will provide a stat boost to agents of a particular element.

Below is a description of the Bangboo from the "New Eridu Settler's Guide, Volume 3."
Bangboo were originally created to assist New Eridu residents with evacuation in Hollow disasters. When a Hollow occurs in New Eridu's residential areas, Bangboo will immediately receive disaster information and evacuation guidance from the public network, and help people around them avoid the hazard-prone areas.
Now, thanks to technological advancement and emerging diverse needs, Bangboo have evolved from simple helper intelligent devices for disaster avoidance to more comprehensive and versatile intelligent individuals. Some pro version Bangboo even go deep into Hollows with Investigators and help with various operations.
Small body, big helper!
When you walk down the street and see a small figure making "enn enn" noises, don't be alarmed. It's just a Bangboo — an intelligent device unique to New Eridu. Bangboo are only around knee-height in size, but they're indispensable helpers in New Eridu's daily operation. After years of research and development, Bangboo are widely and comprehensively used in many scenarios. Many factories also provide customization services to allow for specific Bangboo functions for different groups of people.

Type II
Type II is a second generation Bangboo model. It has its own official account at HoYoLaB and posts about its daily life and adventures, often with its companion Miboo.

Miboo is a male Bangboo who is Type II's companion.

Dooka is a new intern in the THE NEW'S editorial department. Dooka's has a new language module and superior photography equipment.
Modifications
Bangboos can be modified and upgraded.
We all know the Association issues Investigators with special Bangboo for use in the Hollows that are designed to help them better complete their Hollow exploration tasks. Hollow Raiders, on the other hand, don't have their luxury, and so must modify their own little helpers. Fortunately, it's not difficult to modify a Bangboo for Hollow exploration, and these little robots are inherently very powerful and expandable.
The first step in modification should, of course, be to install a Carrot recognition program - which is not installed by default on home Bangboo. This provides the Bangboo with the critical function of providing safe paths through Hollows.
According to incomplete statistics, 73% of Inter-Knot users tend to buy the construction model Bangboo as a basis for modification. COmpared to the home model, the construction model does not have the customizable voice feature, but it has 2 more expansion slots for individual components and 1 more built-in backup power supply. This allows modifiers to add 2 to 33 wide-area acquisition modules or material sensors.
There is, of course, an upper limit to the load a Bangboo can take on. Cramming components recklessly might lead to the Bangboo breaking down prematurely under the strain. If you're uncertain about the best way to modify your Bangboo, you can seek advice and the experience of peers in the industry or opt for specialized modification shops to do the work on your behalf.
